Pakistan Railways pensioners held protest demonstration on Tuesday outside Railways' Headquarters, as they could not get their pensions because Rs 10 million cheque was dishonoured. Pensioners, as usual, visited the National Bank Headquarter branch in the morning. They were deeply disappointed when concerned bank officers told them that transaction of money was not made by State Bank and "Today No Pension".
All pensioners gathered outside the bank and raised slogans against the federal minister for Railways Gulam Ahmad Bilour and Railway authorities as well as the Bank administration for giving them lollypop on the daily basis. Later, hundreds of old men and women gathered outside Railways Headquarter and raised slogans against the government for devastating Pakistan Railways.
The protestors burnt tyres to vent their anger. They demanded the chief justice of Pakistan to take stern action against the Pakistan Railway authorities for their incompetence and negligence. They also appealed to the president and prime minister of Pakistan to take notice of their plights and directed the concerned authorities to pay their pension.
