Message from Minister of Information Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir
The 64th Foundation day of government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is being celebrated at a time when Indian forces are using cruel and brutal tactics against Kashmiris while the defenseless people and leadership of occupied Kashmir need our political and moral support more than ever before.
The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, its leadership, the people and the Pakistani leadership is playing its strong role in this regard. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, through their sincere efforts have created awareness among the International community about the issue and generated hope for its resolution.
The dawn of October 24, 1947 gave a new meaning to century's old struggle and countless sacrifices of Kashmiri people. The skinning of Sabz Ali Khan and Mali Khan alive, disagreement and rejection of Amritsar Pact, sacrifices rendered on July 13, 1931, resolution of Kashmir's accession to Pakistan on July 19, 1947 and martyrdom of two hundred and fifty thousand Kashmiris in Jammu on November 6, 1947 all resulted in establishment of a free and Independent State on 24th October, 1947.
UN, OIC, European Parliament, Amnesty International and Asia Watch have expressed deep concern over brutalities in Indian Held Kashmir. The recent discovery of mass graves in the region has shown to the world that India will never respect the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
We strongly condemn such inhuman tactics and want an end to the human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. We urge upon the International community to pressurise India to withdraw its forces from the region and give right to self determination to Kashmiris. We pay homage to the brave and bold leadership and people of Occupied Kashmir and hope that the freedom struggle will continue till liberation.
