The total open interest position at the futures counter increased by Rs 58 million or 3 percent to Rs 2 billion during the week ended on October 22, 2011. On the other hand, future spread declined by 79bps on week-on-week basis to 10.65 percent.
Trading at the futures counter remained low and the average daily volume declined to 8 million shares, or by 20 percent. The top 5 scrips at the futures counter held 58 percent of the total open interest. Engro once again got the top position at the futures counter, followed by POL, Hubco, FFC and FFBL.
