India avenged their defeat in the final of Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME) by punishing Pakistan 18-12 in the 17th round of 40th Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Championship at Veldhoven (The Netherlands), according to information received here on Saturday.
Pakistan team won the BFAME crown in Chennai in June by dethroning the defending champion India. But Pakistan was unable to maintain their supremacy in the Bermuda Bowl against their traditional rivals. Pakistan are placed 21 with 205 Victory Points (VPs) with three more rounds to go.
After losing to India, Pakistan team received a 7-23 thrashing at the hands of New Zealand. Italy (344), the Netherlands (326), USA-2 (326), Israel (302.3) and USA-I (288.5) Victory Points are enjoying top five berths in the championship.
