Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that Baizai Irrigation scheme will irrigate 25,000 acres land of Malakand and Mardan and seasonal agricultural land will turn to properly irrigational land, which will result in bringing agricultural development and prosperity.
Addressing a jirga and talking to different delegations at Chief Minister's House on Friday, the chief minister said that construction work on main canal of the project will complete in October next year. He said that quality roads play a vital role in economic development of any area.
The Chief Minister said that Baizai Irrigation Scheme, emanating from Malakand Project III, will bring agricultural revolution in the area and will help improve living standard of the farmers. He said that the government is giving full attention to provision of more and improved facilities to people in education, health, communication and irrigation sectors.
He further said that classes in new girls' college of Katlang will commence in four to five months and added temporary arrangements of the classes of the college will be arranged in Irrigation Rest Houses. He announced construction of 4.5-kilometer road from Ghondo Chowk to Shamozai costing Rs 44,000,000. He said that Ring Road around Mardan city will complete with construction of road from Sang-i-Marmar to Jhanday to provide better communication facilities to people of Mardan and associate districts and a new era of economic development will start. He said that overhead bridges will be constructed on different areas of Ring Road which will be named after national heroes and political figures.
