Pakistan cricket team suffered a major blow during the tour of New Zealand after the team's opening batsman Fakhar Zaman injured his thigh.

Zaman sustained a contusion to his right thigh during the first ODI in Wellington while fielding. He was assessed after the match and was diagnosed with a contusion of the right thigh. However, the good news is that the opening batsman has improved significantly and is actively training ahead of the third ODI.

“He has improved quite a lot. He is doing training this afternoon and he is running most of the drills. We still got a day to see how he improves before we go into the match,” said Pakistan Team Physiotherapist Vib Singh, while giving his updates on Zaman.

With the series 2-0 in favor of New Zealand, Pakistan would eye to shift the momentum in the third ODI on January 12 at Oval.
