Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 233,620 tonnes of cargo comprising 171,215 tonnes of import cargo and 62,405 tonnes of export cargo including 3,543 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 171,215 tonnes comprised of 48,476 tonnes of containerised cargo; 66,608 tonnes of bulk cargo: 13,643 tonnes of DAP; 784 tonnes of wheat; 51,595 tonnes of coal; 580 tonnes of chickpeas and 56,131 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 62,405 tonnes comprised of 59,012 tonnes of containerised cargo; 100 tonnes of general cargo; 3,293 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,284 tonnes of coal and 2,009 tonnes of cement. Twelve ships namely YM Fuzhou, Emirates Yangzte, Kota Azam, OOCL Charleston, APL Sokhna, Stolt Greenland, MT Quetta, Chem Star, JK Monowara, Umm Ad Dalkh, Nadeem and Pacific Wisdom carrying five container ships, two oil tankers, one molasses carrier, one coal carrier, one cement carrier, one seeds ship and one DAP carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz Gabion, Manuela, APL Zircon, Haugaard Scan, SFI Yukon, Ocean Host, Cher and MT Karachi carrying three container ships, three bulk cargo ships and two oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Haugaard Scan, Manuela and MT Karachi carrying one bulk cargo ship, one container ship and one oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Monday, while two ships namely SFI Yukon and Nizar-M carrying bulk cargo ship and one wheat carrier respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Six vessels viz STX Patraikos, OEL Trust, Silver Zone, Al-Ihsaa, Moor and Dlace carrying four container ships, one chemicals carrier and one base oil tanker due to arrive on Monday, while three vessels viz Hyundai Confidence, President Adams and Water Breeze carrying two container ships and one chemicals carrier respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 126,846 tonnes, comprising 94,344 tonnes of import cargo and 32,502 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,349 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 94,344 tonnes includes 49,313 tonnes of diesel oil; 8,800 tonnes of palm oil; 4,956 tonnes of seeds; 1,000 tonnes of chemicals and 30,275 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 32,502 tonnes includes 2,607 tonnes of rice and 29,895 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A container ship namely CV Maersk Georgia and a chemicals carrier namely MT Golden Ambrosia sailed out to sea during on Monday morning, while an oil tanker namely MT Al-Salam-II is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of eight vessels CV Maersk Georgia, MV Opal-II, MV Sargodha, MV Silver Star, MV Lord Byron, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT SC Belhai and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, sunflower seeds, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Argent Gerbera, Sea Sky, Alaska-II, and Amira Dina with palm oil, furnace oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz MT Sea Sky and MT Bum Young carrying furnace oil and chemicals respectively are expected to take berths at FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Monday.
Two container vessels viz CV Hanjin Elizabeth and CV CMA CGM Mozart respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday. A total number of five container ships namely CV Henry, CV Elbe Trader, CV CMA CGM Wagner, CV MSC Anafi and CV San Amerigo are also due to arrive at Port Qasim.
