Taiwan stocks up

Taiwan stocks rose 1.4 percent on Monday, joining a regional rally on hopes that policymakers will come up with a plan this week to resolve the eurozone's debt woes. But electronic gadget casings maker Catcher was limit-down 7 percent after saying it had been ordered to close a factory in China after a gas leak. Its main rival, Foxconn Technology, was limit up 7 percent while fellow Foxconn group company Hon Hai , Apple's biggest supplier, was up 4.17 percent.
The main TAIEX index rose 103.04 points to end at 7,461.12, after opening up 0.74 percent. Food, cement and oil and gas were among the biggest gainers. Banking shares advanced 1.47 percent. Electronics shares climbed 1.25 percent.
