Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will arrange the first ever conference on "Changing Paradigm of Library Information Services (LIS) Profession in Pakistan" from October 19. The two-day conference will be organised by Department of Library and Information Sciences, AIOU.
The objective of the conference is to provide a platform and bring together educators, professionals and scholars from all over the country to discover the changing paradigm in international librarian-ship and their implications and opportunities for information professionals.
The conference will focus on the practical solutions to the problems faced by libraries and information centres across the country.
The areas to be highlighted in the conference include Library Automation and Communication Technologies in Libraries and Social Networking in LIS Profession in Pakistan.
