A three day training workshop on "Energy Crisis" organised by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Kohat University of Science & Information Technology (KUST) here concluded on Friday. Zaigham Khan, a journalist, anthropologist and an expert on energy sector was the Lead trainer of the workshop, while Pervez Khan, lecturer Journalism and Mass Communication, was the Co-trainer during the three days training workshop.
The workshop purpose was to enhance reporting skills on energy crises in an informed manner. More than 14 journalists from print and electronic media took part in the thematic training. The experts and trainers were invited from various fields who shared their knowledge regarding different areas of energy. The training proved to be very fruitful, as it created awareness among the local journalists about balanced and development reporting.
On October 13, an open forum was held in which a number of experts participated. Gul Nabi Syed, representative from Wapda shared the official version of the current energy crisis. Zubair Faisal Abbasi, development economist and journalist spoke on Pakistan's energy sector in global perspective and linked it with regional security situation.
