Clarification

The Planning Commission has issued the following clarification: "This is with reference to the article "Poverty Estimates" published in one of the leading newspapers, quoting the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission of Pakistan Dr Nadeem ul Haque on the releasing of poverty numbers and terming the figures given by Musharraf regime has total "fraud".
Deputy Chairman Planning Commission of Pakistan was misquoted in this regard. What he said was that many Pakistani eminent economists are continuing to question the approach and the figure."-PR
