Karachi Port's and Port Qasim's activities

The Karachi Port handled 70,049 tonnes of cargo comprising 35,287 tonnes of import cargo and 34,762 tonnes of export cargo including 2,614 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 35,287 tonnes comprised of 7,906 tonnes of containerised cargo; 247 tonne of general cargo; 9,734 tonnes of bulk cargo: 6,848 tonnes of DAP; 220 tonnes of coal; 2,666 tonnes of chickpeas and 17,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,762 tonnes comprised of 12,020 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,423 tonnes of general cargo; 2,045 tonnes of cement and 19,274 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Al-Mirqab, Hyundai Freedom, Hanjin Durban and Freedom carrying three container ships and one vehicles carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Ital Ottima, APL Japan, SCF Provider, JK Monowara and Freedom carrying two container ships one oil tanker, one bulk cargo ship and one vehicles carrier respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Ital Ottima, SCF Provider and Po Yang Hu carrying one container ship, one oil tanker and one naphtha carrier respectively are expected to sail on Thursday. Five vessels viz Manila Express, Stolt Greenland, SFL Yukon, Stellahamal and Nizar-M carrying one container ship, one Av gas carrier, one coal carrier, one steel coil ship and one wheat carrier due to arrive on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Emirates Yangzte, Conti Brisbane and Cape Maas carrying three container ships respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 43,524 tonnes, comprising 30,204 tonnes of import cargo and 13,320 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,318 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 30,204 tonnes includes 12,949 tonnes of diesel oil and 17,255 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 13,320 tonnes includes 8,169 tonnes of cement and 5,151 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two container ships namely CV HS Wagner and CV Sealand Washington sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while an edible oil tanker namely MT Chem Bulk Jakarta is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of five vessels viz CV HS Wagner, CV Sealand Washington, MT Sargodha, MV Opal-II and MT Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Al-Salam-II, Lord Buron, Silver Star, CGM Strauss, Nicolat Maersk, Ikaruga and Stolt Stream with diesel oil, sunflower seeds, rice, containers and edible oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV CGM Strauss, CV Ikaruga, Lord Buron and Stolt Stream carrying containers, sunflower seeds and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertiliser Terminal (FAP) and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
