The judicial activism panel (JAP) has strongly condemned the statement by International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) chief, Stefan Trechsel wherein he has criticised the suo motu notices taken by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
In a statement issued on Saturday, JAP Chairman, Muhammad Azhar Siddique demanded of the commission to prove its charges against Pakistani judiciary or withdraw the statement, otherwise, a damages suit will be filed against it.
He alleged that the statement of the ICJ chief is an attempt to scandalise the Chief Justice and the judiciary. He further said that the opinion given by the ICJ chief and members is part of a conspiracy against judiciary at a time when SC is going to give its verdict on suo motu notice taken against the targeted killings in Karachi.
