A nephew of the chief justice, Sindh High Court (SHC) was kidnapped by unidentified men in the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station on Saturday. According to police and eyewitnesses, two unidentified armed men, who came in a car, kidnapped Faizan, 17 son of Ishfaq when he went to the market to buy foodstuff for breakfast.
They said the victim, who was student of A-level and a nephew of chief justice SHC Mubasir Alam, was the resident of Kozee house located at block 13-D Gulshan Iqbal. SHO Aziz Bhatti said the victim's father was employed in private company and a cousin of the chief justice SHC. He said the statements of shopkeepers and eyewitnesses were recorded and the case 554/11 was registered.
He said that all intelligence agencies including Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), Anti Car Lifting Cell (ACLC), Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Crime Investigation Department (CID), Anti Extremists Cell (AEC), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), etc were taken on board to recover the nephew of the chief justice SHC. Meanwhile, SP AVCC Usman Ghani dispelled the impression that AVCC has jurisdictional powers to investigate the case, saying that the case would be transferred to AVCC when the kidnappers demand ransom for his release.
