In a hand out to the press and media, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has expressed its concerns that all TV Channels and Press has started entertaining bogus, self-made Alliances/ Forums/Ittehads/Action Committees etc, who release their wishful and personal statements with regards to the closure or otherwise of businesses, markets, industries etc which are entertained as tickers and misleading the people.
The Karachi Chamber would like to request the press and media and also government departments not to entertain these illegal/ non-representative bodies as they issue such statements for disturbing the systems for their vested interests and ultimately hurting the economy of the city and Pakistan. As far as Karachi is concerned, legal and authentic trade bodies which are registered with the Ministry of Commerce are as follows:
1. Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 2. SITE Association of Industry, 3. Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, 4. Landhi Association of Trade and Industry, 5. Federal 'B' Area Association of Trade and Industry, 6. North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry, 7. SITE Superhighway Association of Trade and Industry, and 8. Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry.
The above eight trade bodies are legal and genuine representative bodies of business and industrial community of Karachi and their jurisdiction is according to their industrial zones while Karachi Chamber represents total Business and Industrial Community of the City.-PR
