'Dengue virus can be eliminated through collective efforts'

Dengue virus could only be eliminated through political commitment, media, public awareness and professional's collective efforts therefore, people belonging to all walks of life should play their active and positive role in this regard. These views were expressed by Member National Assembly and Chairman Samanabad Town Emergency Response Committee Mian Marghoob Ahmad in town office, here on Wednesday.
Member CMIT Kasur Ghaffar, Director Special Branch Manzoor Sarwar, officers of Health, Education, Solid Waste Management, Wasa and other departments were also present on this occasion. Mian Marghoob Ahmad said that people belonging to all segments of the society should come forward and discharged their responsibilities in controlling dengue by taking it as a national cause. He said that officers of the Town and Health Department are utilising all their resources and manpower and striving hard to curb the dengue.
Mian Marghoob Ahmad directed the officials of Education Department to visit all government and private schools of Samanabad Town in order to check and implement the orders of the government about spray during 10 days leave. He further said that strict action would be taken against the violators.
On the special directions of the Chief Minister Punjab, Member National Assembly Mian Marghoob Ahmad visited the areas of Ghulam Hussain Colony, Yousaf Park, Shaheena Abad and Tallat Park of Union Council 84 and 91 along with MPA Maher Ishtiaq Ahmad and other committee members. He reprimanded the Wasa officials regarding the poor drainage system in these areas. He warned and directed the Director Drainage Wasa to drain out the water within two days. He further said the permanent solution of drainage system in these areas would be designed as early as possible.
