Federal Minister and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja arrived in Philippines on a high level visit. She is accompanied by Secretary BISP, Sher Khan along with others, says a press release received here on Tuesday.
During her visit, she would meet the President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) as well as the other high level management of the Bank, wherein matters pertaining to health insurance, life insurance, vocational and technical training and schemes related to education would be discussed at length.
Moreover, the existing co-operation and support of ADB being extended to BISP would also come under discussion with an emphasis on the need to enhance co-operation keeping in view the expansion in various operations of the BISP. Farzana Raja, during her stay in Philippines, is also scheduled to meet various key figures belonging to public and private sector organisations of Philippines working in the social sector. The possibilities of mutual co-operation in the area of poverty alleviation and other steps aiming at well being of downtrodden of society would be explored during these meetings.-PR
