A 13-member delegation of All-India Bar Association called on Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman within the premises of IHC here on Tuesday. The delegation led by Partap Singh, Vice-Chairman, All-India Bar Association discussed matters of mutual interest, especially judicial system of both countries.
Chief Justice talking on the occasion said that IHC comprised seven judges was established under the Act of Parliament but presently only three judges are working and rest of the vacancies would be filled soon.
Partap Singh briefed the Chief Justice about judicial system and procedure of judge's elevation in India. He invited the IHC judges, President IHC Bar Association (IHCBA) to participate in golden jubilee celebrations in connection with the promulgation of 1961 'Advocate Act' in Chandigarh.
A member of delegation Harpreet Singh, President Legal Cell Akalidal appreciated the hospitality and love he received in Pakistan saying such has not been experienced anywhere in the world. The meeting was attended by Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan, Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi, President IHCBA Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar, Vice-Chairman Punjab Bar Council Lehrasat Khan Gondal and members of Bar Associations.
