The Defence Day of Pakistan reminds us of the indomitable courage displayed by the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan in thwarting the nefarious designs of the enemy. It was the day when our valiant Armed Forces and the nation stood together and exhibited unprecedented unity and patriotism to repel the naked aggression of the enemy far bigger in size and military might than us.
Today, we pay rich tributes to our Shuhada, whose supreme sacrifices will always be remembered by our succeeding generations. Similarly, we also pay homage to our Ghazis, whose heroism carved a niche in the history of Pakistan. The significance of 1965 War bears testimony to the fact that nations go to war, when political, military and masses rally together to respond against external aggression in safe guarding national integrity and sovereignty. Pakistan today, is confronted with internal and external challenges, which can be overcome through unity, singularity of purpose, harmonic response and above all, will to exit as an independent, proud and prosperous state in the comity of nations.
The present scenario in the region and global geopolitical dynamics demands from all of us to remain in a state of preparedness and vigilance. I am confident that the Armed Forces of the country are fully capable of defending the integrity of their sacred motherland. The nation stands firm behind our military's pursuit of restoring peace and normalcy; an important prerequisite for a progressive state of Pakistan.
By the grace of Almighty Allah, Pakistan has some a long way since 1965 War and our Armed Force of today are reputed as a highly professional and motivated forces, and a key enabler of national defence and security, in tandem with other elements of national power. Let us together renew the pledge on this day to up hold the integrity, dignity, honour and sovereignty of the country for all times and at all costs.
