Managing Director of Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) Saeed Ahmed Sheikh here on Saturday said that people intending for the employment in Korea should apply through the designated office of OEC instead of taking help of agents. Talking to newsmen, the MD said that since the registration forms were available free of cost for applicants therefore people should not pay to agents who were fleecing the people.
MD visited the OEC office and took action against the agents who were sitting outside the office of OEC. Saeed Shaikh said around 30,000 applications had been collected from across the country through the OEC regional offices including Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta and Islamabad.
The Human Resource Development department of Korea would final the name of candidates for the test on September 5, adding that the test of Korean language would be held in October, November and December and around 1,000 candidates would be selected in each month for jobs in Korea. He said in the three months 3,000 people would be selected for Korea and all candidates be despatched by the end of this year, adding that after the three year Pakistan was exporting the labour to Korea.
