Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 130,317 tonnes of cargo including 113,478 tonnes of import cargo, 16,839 tonnes of export cargo and 5,434 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 113,478 tonnes comprised of 39,112 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,181 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,811 tonnes of sulphur; 2,370 tonnes of rock phosphate and 70,185 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,839 tonnes comprised of 14,890 tonnes of containerised cargo; 210 tonnes of general cargo; 739 tonnes of cement and 1,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Kota Singa, Rio Grand Express, Amagi Galaxy, Dongbu Promy-1, Resolve and Yong Jin carrying two container ships, two oil tankers, vehicles carrier and coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Three vessels viz CSL Ride, YM Fuzhou and Dongbu Promy-1 carrying two container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely YM Europe, YM Fuzhou, CSL Ride and Green Line with three container ships and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Saturday. Three container vessels viz OOCL Charleston, Kota Arif and Valdivia due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz Lodestar Genesis, Sky Dream, APL Sharjah, Alliance Beaumont and Seafarer carrying two chemicals carrier, container ship, vehicles carrier and sulphur ship respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 100,980 tonnes, comprising 59,274 tonnes of import cargo and 41,706 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,246 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 59,274 tonnes includes 36,830 tonnes of diesel oil; 5,480 tonnes of palm oil; 2,055 tonnes of urea and 14,909 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 41,706 tonnes includes 237 tonnes of corn; 1,196 tonnes of cement and 40,273 tonnes of containerised cargo. Four ships namely CV RHL Fiducia, CV Glory, MT Ginga Bobcat and MT Al-Salam-II are expected to sail on Friday.
A total number of eight vessels CV RHL Fiducia, CV Glory, CV Pago, MV Alaska-II, MV Hai Yu, MT Ginga Bobcat, MT Al-Salam-II and MV New Sun are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, urea, palm oil, diesel oil and corn respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely Fair Spirit, Th Symphony, Alexi-I, Tycon-II, Green Park, Rio Eider and MSC Jade carrying furnace oil, cement, chemicals and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of four vessels viz CV Rio Eider, CV MSC Jade, MT Th Symphony and MT Green Park carrying containers, furnace oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
