Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday denied media reports that the IRGC had shot down a US drone over the unfinished Fordo nuclear site in central Iran. In a statement carried by Fars news agency, the IRGC said US drones could not enter Iranian air space, let alone reach nuclear sites in the country.
The Youth Journalists Club, apparently affiliated to the state television network IRIB, had quoted an Iranian parliamentarian as claiming that the IRGC had shot down the US drone.
The IRGC said that military news would naturally be reported by military sources and not by parliamentarians.
The Youth Journalists Club reported Friday that three Australian nationals, two men and a woman, were arrested near the Iranian missile test site of Semnan, 300 kilometres east of Tehran.
