Marginal changes were seen on the money market on Friday as, somehow, dollars' supply was matching with the rising demand, dealers said.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee inched down by two paisa versus dollar for buying at 86.14 and slipped by one-paisa for selling at 86.16, they said.
In the final Asian trade euro rallied to a two-week high against dollar after euro-zone officials gave their financial rescue fund sweeping new powers to solve Greece's debt troubles, easing fears that the country's debt crisis would spread.
The dollar was punished across the board as the encouraging news out of Europe contrasted with confusion over how much progress Washington is making to avoid a US default.
"Europe has made a big stride after all while the US is still dragging its feet on the debt ceiling. That's why the dollar is under pressure now," said a dealer at a Japanese bank in Tokyo.
Markets cheered the package as it was more ambitious than some had expected earlier this week. The euro climbed to a two-week high of $1.4440 before steadying around $1.4390.
The yuan closed at an all-time trading high against dollar on Friday after the People's Bank of China fixed the currency's mid-point at a record high for the third day in a row. But the yuan's strength lagged the one percent fall in the US Dollar Index overnight. Indian rupee was trading at Rs 44.50 versus dollar and Malaysian ringgit was available at 2.980 in terms of the US currency.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee was unmoved in relation to dollar for buying and selling at 86.00 and 86.20, they added.
The rupee, however, fell steeply versus euro, falling Rs 2.37 for buying at Rs 123.77 and Rs 124.27, they said. The single European currency also went up on the overseas market as euro-zone officials gave their financial rescue fund sweeping new powers to solve Greece's debt troubles.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged at Lahore currency market on Friday.
According to dealers, the dollar was traded at Thursday's rates of Rs 86.00 and Rs 86.20 for buying and selling, respectively.
However, the rupee depreciated against pound sterling, which was purchased and sold at Rs 139.50 and Rs 140.00 as compared to day earlier closing of Rs 138.80 and Rs 139.50, respectively, dealers said.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged at the currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.25 (selling) against same last rates. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 86.00 (buying) and Rs 86.25 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 138.30 (buying) and Rs 138.45 (selling) against same overnight values. It did not observe further change in the last trading hours and closed at Rs 138.30 (buying) and Rs 138.45 (selling).
