Key Tokyo rubber futures rose 4 percent on Monday, supported by firmness in the oil market, a rally in Shanghai rubber futures and higher stock markets, as concerns on the global economy eased. The benchmark rubber contract on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange for December delivery climbed as much as 14.5 yen, or 4 percent, to 378.7 yen per kg, before settling up 13.8 yen at 378 yen.
The most active Shanghai rubber contract for January delivery rose 1,305 yuan to close at 33,480 yuan ($5,178.686) per tonne on Monday.
