PML-N attitude termed 'political terrorism'

Terming attitude of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as 'political terrorism', chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Farzana Raja on Sunday lashed out at PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif for criticising BISP, saying statements against the programme will not serve the masses.
Speaking at a news conference Farzana Raja, while criticising Sharifs, said that those terming Kashmiri people as 'saleable commodity' should apologise, adding the allegations on BISP were reflective of defeated mindset.
"The recent statements of PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif regarding BISP are not only reflecting his ignorance but also insulting to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir as he has termed them 'saleable commodity'", said Raja, adding Kashmiri People would never forgive him (Nawaz Sharif) for his statement. She said that BISP was launched to serve the poorest of the country and it has nothing to do with the politics.
She was of the view that criticism by PML-N leadership over BISP was only to avenge their defeat in the recent AJK polls. "It reflects their negative and anti poor mentality", she added. "Pakistan is threatened not only by terrorism but also by 'political terrorists' whose politics is just limited to controversial statements", she said, adding 'political terrorism' was bigger threat to country as extremism.
Raja claimed that the transparent mechanism adopted by BISP was not only acknowledged by various prestigious international organisations but it has also been unanimously approved by both houses of the parliament.
She while defending the BISP, said that the apolitical nature of the programme could be proved from the fact that Rs 47 billion have been disbursed in the first phase of the programme among the beneficiary families recommended by the parliamentarians irrespective of political affiliations while only Rs 25 billion have been distributed on the recommendations of members of parliament belonging to PPP.
Giving details of the distribution of the total of Rs 47 billion, she said, about Rs 15 billion have been distributed among the recommended families by PML-N, Rs 15.5 billion among PML-Q, Rs 4.5 billion among MQM and Rs 3 billion among the recommended families by ANP.
In the current budget, she said that Rs 65 billion have been allocated for the BISP while availability of funds has been insured as per requirements of the programme. She further said various international donor agencies were also willing to extend their support to BISP in its poverty alleviation objectives and it was being expected that the programme would be extended further with the help of funds obtained from international organisations.
Farzana Raja blamed Nawaz Sharif for maligning Pakistan Army during his AJK election campaign saying during the campaign Mian Nawaz Sharif did not say anything about Kashmiri people on their sufferings and instead resorted to malign Pakistan Army. She said that she distributed the forms of BISP among the elected members of AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan herself during the first phase of the programme on the directions of the President and the Prime Minister.
Referring to the statements of former PM AJK and PML-N's AJK leader Raja Farooq Haider, the chairperson BISP said he (Haider) forgotten the fact that while receiving BISP forms. "He was quite applicative of BISP and termed it a very useful programme", she added.
To a question regarding expected 'grand opposition alliance' she said that government was not afraid of any alliance of 'undemocratic' forces against rather, added that the government would continue its policy of reconciliation. She, however, added that the reconciliation policy should not be taken as a weakness of the government.
