Sweden once again struggled to score but secured their second straight 1-0 victory on Saturday, beating North Korea to take a big step towards reaching the 2011 Women's World Cup quarter-finals. Midfielder Lisa Dahlkvist scored the only goal in the 64th minute to leave Sweden on a maximum six points from Group C action.
"I think we had a very good tactical match. But our defence was very good. And we created some good chances and we scored the goal we need," said Sweden coach Thomas Dennerby. About his team's scoring problems - with just two goals despite a high number of good chances, he said: "I really don't know. I hope if we still keep working on it, it will be better. For me it doesn't matter who is the one scoring.
"Hopefully there will be a lot more games and a lot more chances. But I don't think too much about it." North Korea remained pointless and will be eliminated if the Americans can pick up a point in the late game. In front of a crowd of 23,768, Dennerby made no changes to his line-up following their 1-0 win over Colombia.
