Vice Chancellor University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz has said the training workshop always helpful in enhancing the skills and expertise of professional. He was addressing at certification distribution ceremony on two-month training artificial insemination here on Friday at conference hall.
The workshop was organised by dean faculty of veterinary science Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad in collaboration with Agha Khan rural support programme and sponsored by CESVI an Italian NGO. Institute of Continue Education and Extension, Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani and chairman theriogenology department Mian Abdul Sattar also spoke on the occasion.
Nawaz hoped that young professional had learnt latest techniques including animal heat detection programme and examination of pregnancy. These techniques will be helpful for them and they will take care of livestock in more effective way. He appreciated the effort made by the department of theriogenology /animal reproduction for successfully implementing the programme.
Professor Dr Nasim Ahmad explained that artificial insemination can bring a big change in improving milk and meat to enhance the northern area economics. He gave a challenge to the livestock worker who had completed the two-month training to execute the skills especially for furlong Hunza, Skardu, Gilgit and Chitral.
CESVI Project manager Dr Marco Piccolo thanked the UVAS for providing excellent training opportunity to the group of 15 para vet professionals and showed keen interest in future collaboration adding that it is good quality of training which was provided first ever in Lahore in this regard.
