Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded of the government to explain its stance on the mystery of Shamsi base and enforce its decision to abandon the activities of US forces. Pakistan has earlier ordered the United States to leave the Shamsi base, which was being used for US
unmanned aircraft to target suspected militants possibly hiding in tribal areas bordering Afghanistan. Washington refused to vacate the base in response to Islamabad's decision. Dr Arif Alvi, Secretary General, PTI, in a statement issued on Thursday said that the government is bound to divulge facts relating to the terms of the agreement under which the base was handed over to the US, who did it and whether there are any financial emoluments involved in the deal.
