The Karachi Port handled 45,273 tonnes of cargo including 22,929 tonnes of import cargo, 22,344 tonnes of export cargo and 2,304 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 22,929 tonnes comprised of 15,812 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,096 tonnes of DAP and 6,021 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,344 tonnes comprised of 16,521 tonnes of containerised cargo; 50 tonnes of general cargo; 1,823 tonnes of bulk cargo: 707 tonnes of cement; 438 tonnes of wheat; 678 tonnes of rice and 3,950 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely Gem of Dahej, Al-Kuwaitiah, ERK, Leopard-B, OEL Trust, Arnis and APL Zircon carrying chemicals carrier, high speed diesel, DAP, phosphorus and three container ships respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Three vessels viz Targale, Oriental Protea and Hanjin Durban carrying two oil tankers and container ship respectively are currently at the berths. A container ship namely Cape Manuel expected to sail on Tuesday, while three ships namely Hanjin Durban, Targale and Oriental Protea with three container ships are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Four vessels viz Malhari, Oriental Marguerite, Fair Express and King Brave with chemicals carrier, base oil tanker, jet oil tanker and general cargo ship due to arrive on Tuesday, while nine vessels viz CSL Ride, Trave Trader, Hanjin Berlin, Cape Gabriel, Prestige New York, Vera-9, Green Line, BBC Tennessee and O.Phena carrying four container ships, vehicles carrier, coal ship, cement carrier, project cargo ship and general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
Two ships namely MT Kassos and Ivy Galaxy sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely MT Singapore and MSC Magali will sail out to sea on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz MSC Magali, MV Acacia-N, MV Orient-III, Tamil Nadu, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Singapore, MV Ataman, MT Kassos and Ivy Galaxy are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Nedlloyd Drake, Al-Abdali, Zaliv Vostok, Al-Salam-II, Argent Kosmos and Chembulk Tortola carrying containers, furnace oil, diesel oil and edible oil are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz Nedlloyd Drake, Al-Abdali, Al-Salam-II and Argent Kosmos carrying containers, diesel oil and edible oil are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
