Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 250,500 tonnes of cargo including 164,032 tonnes of import cargo, 86,468 tonnes of export cargo and 5,655 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 164,032 tonnes comprised of 58,184 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,479 tonnes of general cargo; 71,369 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,771 tonnes of wheat; 57,032 tonnes of coal; 10,482 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,084 tonnes of rice and 30,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 86,468 tonnes comprised of 57,349 tonnes of containerised cargo; 575 tonnes of general cargo; 8,044 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,392 tonnes of cement; 4,652 tonnes of wheat and 20,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Twelve ships namely APL Guangzhou, APL Brisbane, Cardonia, MSC Anafi, Al-Mirqab, Star Island-H, Honor, Alliance Beaumont, Ellenita, Spar Rigel, Daewoo Diamond and Apostolos carrying five container ships, rock phosphate, two vehicles carriers, wheat carrier, coal carrier and two oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Thirteen vessels viz Honor, Alliance Beaumont, Moondance-II, MSC Anafi, APL Brisbane, Al-Mirqab, Hyundai Freedom, Lindavia, YM Asia, Bunga Raya Lima, Golden Falcon, MT Lahore and African Jaguar carrying two vehicles carriers, seven container ships, rice carrier, oil tanker and wheat carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Namrun, CSL Ride, Bunga Raya Lima, MT Lahore, Hyundai Freedom and Lindavia with coal carrier, two container ships, oil tanker and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Monday, while three ships namely Miramis, Sheila Mcdevitt and Rosy Falcon with container ship and two wheat carriers respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Two vessels viz Bareli and Ocean Jade carrying container ship and coal carrier respectively due to arrive on Monday, while five vessels viz APL Japan, Kota Akbar, Uru Bhum, Ocean Host and Ain Temouchment carrying three container ships and two coal carriers respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 128,225 tonnes of cargo includes 93,446 tonnes of import cargo, 34,779 tonnes of export cargo and 2,325 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours. The total import cargo of 93,446 tonnes includes 63,922 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,000 tonnes of edible oil; 1,054 tonnes of general cargo and 16,470 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,779 tonnes includes 15,748 tonnes of wheat; 3,460 tonnes of cement; 847 tonnes of rice and 14,724 tonnes of containerised cargo. MV Maersk Missouri sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MV Iron Monger-5 and SC Liaoning are expected are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz MV Maersk Missouri, Alexi-I, MV Wales-II, MV Abdul, Zulal-N, MV Chang Qaing, MV Iron Monger-5 and SC Liaoning are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, wheat, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely Al-Soor-II and Saudi Diriyah carrying diesel oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz CV Saudi Diriyah and MT Al-Soor-II carrying containers and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
