Harshly criticising, what he called growing interference of the US secret agencies in Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan demanded that these agencies should leave the country. Addressing a big sit-in on the concluding day of the two-day protest of his party on Main M. A. Jinnah Road here on Sunday, he said there is no place for the 'US agents' in Pakistan.
He asked the rulers to implement the unanimously approved resolution of the parliament regarding Abbottabad operation and CIA-operated drone attacks in Pakistan.
Regretting that the US drone attacks are continued despite the resolution, he questioned why the rulers were reluctant to defend the sovereignty of the country.
He said the message of today's sit-in to the US is that they should leave the region they invaded 10 years ago. He said that the US war in Afghanistan had proved to be a complete failure, which only resulted in the bloodbath of hundreds of thousands innocent people. Hassan asked the rulers to shun the US-dictated policies and work for protecting the interests of the nation and the country. He regretted that poverty, price hike, inflation, joblessness and lawlessness have increased in Pakistan, which reflects the complete failure of the incumbent rulers.
