It is an important endeavour on part of KPT in view of the fact that there is a pressing need to keep the public well aware of this issue before it's too late. On World Environment Day, we appeal everyone to sound the alarm for mangroves protection. Get involved, speak out, learn and teach others. Together, we can develop a new vision of a greener coastal line.
Mangrove forests have a great economic and ecological significance. They are the habitat of a diverse community of organisms ranging from bacteria and fungi to fish, shrimps, birds, reptiles and mammals. Mangroves provide fuel, wood and fodder for domestic animals of the local communities. The mangroves conservation efforts by KPT provide another illustration of sustainable community development. In the end, I would like to give heartfelt felicitations to KPT for upholding its tradition of initiating policies aimed at protection of environment and natural resources. I hope they will keep up the good work.
