Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will get benefit from the technical collaboration of the International NGOs working in the field of Child Rights so as to promote child friendly schooling in its about 2500 partner schools in Punjab.
This was stated by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Muhammad Anwar while talking to two-member delegation of Plan Pakistan comprising of Virginia Khan, Manager M&R and Syed Safdar Raza, Advocacy Officer at his office on Saturday. Different Programme Heads of Punjab Education Foundation were also present on the occasion who briefed the delegation about child friendly initiatives in PEF. At the outset, Raja Anwar told the delegation that Punjab Education Foundation is committed to promote quality school education in the poor and economically deprived families by promoting free educational facilities for deserving children through Public Private Partnership.
He said that school committees have been constituted to protect Child Rights in partner schools. These committees, comprising of school teachers, parents and children, are working to ensure child rights, he added. This agenda of Punjab Education Foundation is aimed to ensure composite development of children's personality in a conducive and cosmopolitan environment so that they could emerge as future leaders, maintained Raja Anwar.
On the occasion, different proposals were also brought under consideration to bilaterally promote child rights through sustained interventions so that Punjab could emerge as child friendly province. Later, the delegation also visited different PEF partner schools in Lahore.
