The Capital Police have busted a six member gang involved in theft and raided two brothels, besides nabbing 15 accused for their alleged involvement in different crimes and recovered 4 pistols and 36 bottles of liquor from the detainees.
In the wake of instructions from SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, SP Rural Umar Hayat ordered SHO Shahzad Town Inspector Raja Tahir Hussain and SHO Koral Inspector Abid Hussain launched operation against outlaws in their respective areas, said Naeem Iqbal, spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Saturday.
Koral Police succeeded in busting a six-member gang of thieves who were allegedly involved in many theft incidents in the Federal Capital. The detained outlaws were identified as Atif, Shahid, Raza, Muhammad Yusuf, Muhammad Ayub and Shahzad. Police recovered valuables of Rs 200,000 from their possession.
Police investigators said that during the preliminary investigations the arrested accused also confessed that they committed a number of crimes in the limits of Sahiwal City of Punjab.
Responding to information from local people, Shahzad Town Police raided a brothel at Alipur area and arrested three women and two men for their alleged involvement in prostitution. The detained accused were identified as Muajjat Hussain, Nadeem Abbas, Zakia Shahid, Salma and Farha.
Industrial Area Police also raided a brothel in sector I-8/2 of the Federal Capital and apprehended four men and a woman for their alleged involvement in immoral activities. Three bottles of wine were also recovered from them. The accused were identified as Karamat Shah, Muhammad Ghulfam, Samiullah, Ghulam Qasim and Ayesha.
During a regular patrolling Shahazad Town Police stopped two persons identified as Ali Hassan and Waqas and on checking police found two illegal pistols from their possession. Kohsar Police arrested two bootleggers and recovered 32 bottles of wine and 236 grams hashish from them. The alleged bootleggers were identified as Afzal Masih and Mohram Khan.
Golra Police arrested an accused Muhammad Ayaz and recovered a pistol from him. Police spokesman said that investigation has been started against the detained outlaws after separate cases were filed against them in concerned police stations. He said that the SSP Islamabad has lauded the performance of the Capital Police and has stressed the need of more collective efforts to eliminate crime from the society.
