Islamabad Police have planned to carry out complete survey of the residential areas, slums and localities where Afghan nationals are residing to make sure no anti-social element lives there. A meeting was held under Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan, operational police was assigned the task of survey in all residential areas, including Afghan habitats and slum areas within three weeks.
The meeting was attended by SP Saddar Dr Khurram Rasheed, SP City Muhammad Ilyas, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich, SP CIA Chaudhry Liaqat Ali, all Sub-division Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs) and officials and representatives of other law enforcement agencies.
The SSP said that Islamabad Police have introduced a new Performa for compiling updated information about residents of the Federal Capital, so that foolproof security would be provided to them. The police database will help curb the crimes quickly, he added. The purpose of this exercise is to get first hand information about the tenants or others residing in various areas.
The SSP directed all police officials to conduct survey and gather information within three weeks about all the persons residing in their respective jurisdictions. He said that new forms have been introduced that would maintain complete information about the history of people permanently or temporarily residing there.
The SSP said that duties being performed by police officials in the crucial atmosphere are praiseworthy. People should be provided relief and further sense of security, he added. Tahir Alam Khan further directed to involve beat officers, notables of the community and members of security and vigilance committees to ensure accuracy of information. He said it is the prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and activities of anti-social elements should be curbed for relief to the citizens.
