Journalists on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against the cold-blooded murder of a renowned journalist, Saleem Shahzad and demanded of the government to arrest the killers without further delay. Dozens of members of the journalist fraternity took part in the protest outside Karachi Press Club, raising anti-government slogans and urged government to arrest the killers of Saleem Shahzad.
Protestors were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans as "killers of Saleem Shahzad be arrested", and "protect the journalists" etc. Speakers criticised the government and Interior Minister Rehman Malik, in particular, for his statements regarding the Saleem Shahzad's killing. They said, "Rehman Malik could not trap the killers of Benazir Bhutto despite claming to have known them".
