The Provincial Transport Authority (PTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued the new revised fare rates on inter provincial and inter city routes in light of the decreased diesel prices of Rs 94 per litre. All Secretaries of Regional Transport Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been directed to ensure display of new decreased fare tables at visible places in General Bus Stands at their jurisdiction and inside passenger vehicles for information of transporters and passing on relief to the travelling passengers.
It has further directed that the violating transporters and drivers be brought to book under intimation to their office. Similarly, the existing concession of 50 percent in the actual fare allowed to the students of educational institutions, Deeni Madaris, Blind/Disabled persons and the passengers above the age of 60 years shall continue as usual. However, in case the air-conditioned system is not working in air-conditioned vehicles, then fares of deluxe stage carriage bus would be charged.
According to new reduced fare tables, Peshawar-Mardan fare for flying coaches/mini buses, and AC buses, will be Rs 63/- and Rs 75/-, respectively. Likewise Peshawar - Mingora Rs 187/- and Rs 221/-, Peshawar - Swabi Rs 129/- and Rs 153/- Peshawar - Cahrsadda Rs 30/- and Rs 35/-, Peshawar - Bannu Rs 209/- and Rs 248/-, Peshawar - D.I.Khan Rs 366/- and Rs 433/-, Peshawar - Kohat Rs 71/- and Rs 84/-, Peshawar - Hangu Rs 112/- and Rs 133/-, Peshawar - Dir Rs 252/- and Rs 322/- Peshawar - Haripur Rs 170/- and Rs 201/-, Peshawar - Abbottabad Rs 210/- and Rs 249/- and Peshawar - Mansehra as Rs 237/- and Rs 280/-, Peshawar - Topi as Rs 147/- and Rs 174/- respectively.
Moreover, the new revised fare rates on inter provincial routes between Mingora - Rawalpindi for ordinary non - AC mini buses will be Rs 244/-, Abbottabad - Rawalpindi as Rs 107/-, Mansehra - Rawalpindi Rs 133/-, Peshawar - Rawalpindi Rs 144/- and Mardan - Rawalpindi Rs 120/-.
The fares of Deluxe Non -AC buses for Peshawar - Faisalabad will be charged as Rs 416/-, Peshawar - Multan Rs 648/-, Mingora - Lahore Rs 444/-, Peshawar - Sargodah Rs 299/- and Peshawar - Lahore as Rs 347/-. Likewise, the AC buses will charge the new revised fare for Peshawar - D.I.Khan as Rs 433/-, Peshawar - Abbottabad Rs 249/-, Peshawar - Mingora Rs 222/- and Peshawar - Mansehra Rs 279/- respectively. All the concerned transporters have further been directed to charge the notified fares and in case of charging excess fares, strict action shall be initiated against the violators.
