Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has proposed to the federal government to refrain from taking more foreign loans, levy direct taxes and avoid indirect taxes. While announcing budget proposals in a press conference here on Thursday, PTI Punjab President Ahsan Rasheed also advised the government to review development programmes and the parliamentary committee should approve it.
He said the government should reduce its reliance on foreign loans and there is no need to increase the budget of the army. "The government should announce a poor-friendly budget," he added. According to him, the rulers also needs to take concrete steps to control poverty and price hike, and before tabling of the finance bill in the House, first it should be approved by the a parliamentary committee. Also, under the 18th constitutional amendment, the budgeting of both education and health departments should be transferred to the provinces.
Ahsan Rasheed stressed upon the government to implement the budget recommendation given by his party. "PTI also proposes that a significant allocation should be made for industrial development and people's welfare. Also, for elimination of terrorism, special institutions should be built," he concluded.
