Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that it is the need of the hour to equip the young generation with modern knowledge and Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme for promotion of Information Technology in the province. He said that launching of Microsoft Workshop is a good programme for imparting training of Information Technology to youths, which would yield far-reaching results.
He was talking on the occasion of launching of a Microsoft Workshop here on Thursday. Shahbaz said that the co-operation of Microsoft with regard to launching of Microsoft Workshop is praiseworthy and under this programme, training workshops would be arranged in nine divisions of the province through which opportunities of training regarding Information Technology, Women Development, Media & Communication and Management would be available to 360 members of Youth Council.
He said that programme of holding training workshops for creating awareness among youth about Information Technology is a commendable step and it would be implemented through Punjab Youth Council. Chairman Punjab Youth Council Saif Hameed informed on this occasion that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, Punjab Youth Council has been set up to include the youth in the development process of the province which is working for the improvement of various sectors. He informed that members of Youth Council took active part in the flood relief activities and now it is also taking part in the process of verification of particulars in the Aashiyana Housing Scheme. He disclosed that Microsoft has made largest funding for Microsoft Workshops in the region so far.
