Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 112,130 tonnes of cargo including 70,447 tonnes of import cargo, 41,683 tonnes of export cargo and 4,184 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 70,447 tonnes comprised of 25,024 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,042 tonnes of general cargo; 4,381 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,681 tonnes of wheat; 1,700 tonnes of rock phosphate and 40,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,683 tonnes comprised of 24,438 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,311 tonnes of general cargo; 13,274 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,249 tonnes of cemrnt; 10,025 tonnes of wheat and 2,660 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Yong Jin, Bunga Raya Lapan, Hyundai General, MOL Komati and Liberty Promise carrying bulk cargo, three container ships and car carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Eight vessels viz Miramis, MT Karachi, APL Shenzhen, Cape Maas, Hyundai Discovery, Liberty Promise, Gulf Safwa and Reis-G carrying two oil tankers, three container ships, Vehicles carrier, general cargo and bulk cargo respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely MT Karachi, Gold Stone and Cape Maas with oil tanker, wheat carrier and container ship respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while another ship namely Christina with cement carrier are expected to sail on Wednesday. Five vessels viz Dawoo Diamond, STI Coral, APL Spinel, Samin-1 and African Jaguar carrying ethanol ships, Mogas, two container ships and wheat carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz Ital Onesta, Clen Cenyon Bridge, Jakarta Express, Namrun, Paimpol and BM Interpid carrying four container ships and two general cargo ships respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 79,312 tonnes of cargo includes 62,352 tonnes of import cargo and 16,960 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 62,352 tonnes includes 43,045 tonnes of furnace oil; 14,307 tonnes of palm oil and 5,000 tonnes of chemicals.
The total export cargo of 16,960 tonnes includes 8,482 tonnes of wheat and 8,478 tonnes of cement. Three ships: bulk cargo carrier MV Nahide-M, chemicals carrier MT Golden Ambrosia and edible oil vessel SC Beiha are expected to sail on Tuesday.
A total number of eight vessels viz MV Wales-II, MV Sapphire-II, MV Bussara Naree, MV Nahide-M, MV Chang Qaing, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT SC Beiha and MT Th Symphony are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, wheat, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. Seven ships namely Alexi-I, Maestrous, MSC Magali, MSC Sena, Nedlloyd Barentsz, Al-Noof and Al-Farahidi carrying cement, diesel oil and five container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of five vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Barentz, CV Al-Farahidi, CV MSC Magali, CV Al-Noof and MT Argent Daisy carrying container ships and palm oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday, while an oil tanker namely MT Maistrous is due to arrive on the same day. Five ships namely CV OOCL San Francisco, CV ACX Marguerite, MV Abdus, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Ocean Concord are due to arrive on Wednesday.
