Sacked employees of Co-operative Bank Khyber Pakhtukhwa on Monday staged a protest demonstration on Sher Shah Suri Road, near Peshawar press club, demanding for immediate reinstatement of their services. Mohammad Imran, President Co-operative Bank Employees Union (CBEU), Abdul Qayyum, General Secretary, along with a large number of employees led the protest.
The protesting employees were carrying placards and banners inscribed in favour of their demands. Talking to reporters, President CBEU, Abdul Qayyum said that the provincial government had restored the co-operative bank through a notification on January, 15, 2011, but it yet to be reinstated their services. He alleged that the provincial bureaucracy is the biggest hurdles before their reinstatement. He demanded of the government to immediate reinstate their services and salary package to deceased families of the employees.
