Dawood Usman Jakhura, Vice President FPCCI has been nominated as Chairman of Asian Textiles and Garments Council (ATGC) of Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry. In a statement, Jakhura informed that ATGC is one of the Product and Service Councils (PSC) formed under CACCI umbrella with the primary aim of promoting greater business interaction among CACCI members who are in the same products or service line.
He further said that Pakistan, being an important producer of textiles and garments in the region, is certainly in a position to help CACCI develop and promote co-operation amongst the businessmen of member states in the textile sector.
Describing the objectives of PSC, he said that it will identify and address issues affecting respective sectors, find solutions to common problems and design specific programmes to accelerate regional co-operation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, technology transfer, capital flow, exchange information, explore opportunities for business co-operation and joint ventures and initiate and complete business deals.-PR
