Volcanic ash in Iceland: PIA activates 'Emergency Response Centre'

PIA spokesperson has said that PIA is closely monitoring the situation created due to the eruption of volcanic ash in Iceland. As per the management's directives, Emergency Response Centre has been activated round the clock from 24th May 2011. For any assistance or sharing of information, contact can be made on the telephone numbers 021-99044372 and 021-99044862.
PIA is in touch with all the concerned weather and aviation authorities in Europe and flights are released after confirmation of weather clearance. In case of an emergency, the airline is ready with its contingency plan. However, so far, no advisory for closure of any PIA destinations has been issued, the spokesperson concluded.-PR
