'Road safety education imparted to 0.2 million people'

Islamabad Traffic Police, through its road education campaign, has given information to more than 0.2 million people about road safety rules and regulations during the current year to establish a disciplined traffic system in the federal capital, said Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic, Dr Moeen Masood, here on Tuesday.
Enforcement of traffic laws could be made possible by creating traffic sense among road users through educational workshops, the SSP said while addressing the participants of Road Safety Workshop arranged at SAIF Group of Companies in its main office in Blue Area.
Dr Moeen said such workshops and educational programmes are aimed at creating a traffic sense and responsibility among the road users. The ITP has been arranging lectures at various educational, government and non-government institutions, aiming to inculcate traffic sense among the people, he maintained. SSP (Traffic) said that ITP is doing its utmost effort to maintain traffic discipline in the city while conducting inspection through radar to control over-speeding practices. On the occasion, the SSP also delivered lecture about maintaining discipline traffic system in the city.
