Power shortage dwindled at 2,300MW after a mild swing in the weather during last few days, reducing from abnormal level of 6,000MW. According to the Pepco daily brief, power generation stood at 13762MW against a demand of 16032MW, leaving the system with a total gap of 2270MW.
Power generation through hydel, thermal, IPPs and RPPs remained 5457MW, 1706MW, 6423MW and 176MW. Power supply to the KESC stood at 650MW. The power sector experts have feared further increase in demand supply gap ahead due to rise in mercury.
