The Institute of Sindhology of the University of Sindh is planning to establish 'Sindh University Archives Corner' to preserve the record and documents pertaining to the varsity since its establishment to date.
In this connection a proposal was moved by Director Sindhology Muhammad Qasim Maka seeking approval from SU Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal to set up Archives Corner. The VC appreciated the proposal and gave it go-ahead.
The Archives corner is aimed at gathering all records of history of the university, record of meetings of Syndicate, Senate, selection boards, board of advance studies and research board, board of students, board of faculties, academic convocations, and also academic meetings held in the university.
The records of the academic convocations, history of various teaching institutes and departments, reports of seminars, conferences as well invitation cards, booklets, souvenirs issued by the university, decisions on policy matters, photographs of all events, bio-data of Vice Chancellors, Deans, Heads of teaching institutes and departments, faculty members, officers and employees. The record of ex students of the university would also be documented in the archives corner. Director of the Sindhology Institute Maka informed that an advisory committee would also be set up for guidance of the historical work.
