Propaganda against Islam: call to develop liaison among media, women of Muslim countries

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can benefit from each other in the field of education, particularly women's education, and there is a need for greater co-operation among media and women of Muslim countries for preserving Islamic identity and countering propaganda against Islam.
This was stated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan during her visit to Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh on Sunday. She was received by the Vice Minister for Education, Girls Education, Dr Nourah Al Faiz, President of the University, Dr Huda bint Muhammad Al Ameel and other high ranking officials of the ministry, said a press release received here from Saudi Arabia. Dr Firdous was given an extensive briefing on the varsity, which is considered the world's largest women university and reflects Saudi leadership's determination to uplift and promote women education in the kingdom.
Dr Firdous toured various university faculties and was shown through the 19-km long tram network that links the university's various buildings. She appreciated the pioneering role of Nora University in promoting education.
Later, talking to Saudi TV, the minister said that keeping in view the criticism and propaganda of some western media against Islam and Muslims, there is a dire need for strong media co-operation between the Muslim media to counter the nefarious propaganda. She said that the objective of her visit is to promote co-operation in the fields of media & information, women development and women education. She underlined the need for greater exchange of delegations of media persons, education experts, teachers and students. She also underlined the need for benefiting from each other's experience.
