Three killed in separate incidents in city

Three persons including a woman were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the metropolis here on Friday. According to details, a woman was crushed to death by a passenger bus, PE-0982, while 16 others injured near Lasbela Bridge in the limits of Jamshed Quarter police station.
After the accident, the driver tried flee but he lost control over the vehicle and it overturned due to over-speeding, leaving 16 others including Qasim, Noman, Munir, Abdul Majeed, Mir Mohammad, Mohammad Arshad, Asif, Sameena, and Abida injured. Police shifted them the injured CHK and ASH for medical treatment. Police said the identity of the victim was yet to be ascertained while the responsible driver managed to flee from the scene. Meanwhile, police impounded the vehicle and initiate probe.
A man was shot dead in Sharifabad Moor, Korangi within the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station. The victim, Haroon Rehman, 24, son of Murad Bangash, a resident of Sharifabad Korangi, was targeted by two armed men when he was standing at a bus stop. He received two bullets and died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the policemen deployed near the bus stop arrested one of the murderers namely Jan Mohammad after brief encounter, while his accomplice Nadeem Afghani managed to flee from the scene. Police said that personal enmity was behind the murder as the victim ran away with the niece of Jan Mohammad from Hangu and contracted free will marriage with her. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and later handed over to heirs. Police registered an FIR 496/11 against Jan Mohammad and Nadeem Afghani on the complaint of victim's brother Siddique and initiated probe.
In another incident, a man committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in Paposh area. The victim, Yasir, 24, son of Bagh Hussain, a resident of Ashraf Nagar Paposh Nazimabad, committed suicide, due to unsuccessful love-affair. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities. Police said the victim, who sent a marriage proposal to the family of his lover, committed suicide over his proposal was rejected.
