Moong Punjab rate declined steeply on the grain market on Tuesday in process of modest trading, dealers said. On the cereal side, moong Punjab was down by Rs 1000 to Rs 8,500, gur low quality was higher by Rs 500 to Rs 7000 while the superior type was unchanged at Rs 8000 and Khandsari was quoted at Rs 7400 in balanced demand and supply position, other items maintained the overnight levels, they said.
On the grams sector, grams Australia was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 4350-4550, grams dal Australia, however, low type gained Rs 200 to Rs 5100 and good quality was up by Rs 150 to Rs 5300, they said. On the seed side, rapeseeds cakes low type inched up after a slight rise of Rs 5 to Rs 875 and best type retained the overnight level at Rs 880, they said. Prices were firm on the rice sector as there was no gap between demand and supply, they added. Wheat old (bardan) was quoted at Rs 2400-2410 and wheat new Bardan was registered at Rs 2415-2425, they said.
