Senator Gul Mohammad Lot has said that country's situation demands nation to stand by state institutions for the protection of its geographical and ideological frontiers. "This is not a time to demoralise our army but to realise that this is the army that has always defended frontiers of the country and is still prepared to face the challenges for the defence of homeland," he said.
In a statement to the press, Lot emphasised the need for forging unity among the nation to uphold sovereignty and dignity of the nation. He reminded that the intelligence lapse that took place in Abottabad is not the first in the history of the world but there are many developed countries where such incidents have happened. The incident of 9/11 in the USA, that of 7th July in the UK and the Bombay incident in 2008 are all testaments to intelligence lapses taking place around the world.
The senator further said that Pakistan has played its role to help capture Al- Qaida terrorists by sharing intelligence information with the US. "As far as the incident of Abottabad is concerned, US succeeded because of superiority of technology that it posses" he said firmly. He stressed that we should not be hesitant to seek support of all political parities in order to make ourselves independent.-PR
